Aarrrgh!!

Ahoy Mate!  All ye Pirates come aboard the ECU ship.

The budding young Pirate and Queen Pirate boarded the ship in August 2011, sailed the 2 hours and 50 minutes east to Greenville NC.  Both survived and at last check-in, none have jumped overboard.

To begin, the Queen made her and junior pirate a list.  A list of stuff that she thinks he would need to survive.  A list that was modified by junior as the seemingly endless shopping spree would never end.  The last minute rush put them shopping all day the day before sailing.

Both were getting tense.  Both were feeling the pending growth step….the Queen more than junior.

The routine at the check-in was stop, drop off and roll on.  We stopped.  We jumped out of the car.  Unpacked the valuable resource material, aka, junk and inventory.  Junior Pirate checked in.  He summoned a posse of colleagues.  In nearly one movement, most of the inventory and junk was carted or man handled up to the 7th floor.  Dad did the car maneuvering while Queen Pirate and her off spring did the organizing, arranging and introduction with the new roommate.

She lingered around.  Asking good questions…making some good comments.  She was tarrying around just to spend another moment with her pirate.

We ran an errand which turned out to be the last errand for the pirate.  As we pulled up to the dorm, he hopped out of the car in a hurry not wanting to cause an embarrassing scene.  He was heading back up to the 7th floor.  The Queen kind of patted him on the shoulder while Dad and little bro gave him the heads up….all meaning in it’s subtle way…we love you, be safe and grow young pirate, grow.

Update: The young pirate did well his first semester, missing the honor roll by a mere 6 points! Atta boy ye ole young pirate. What has come to past is the young pirate is working his way into another school, far from the east just about as close to the western North Carolina as one could get….ASU Mountaineers in the fall of 2012. It looks like the pirate will go west. Go west young man and do good! M&D are very proud!
