Mom was at home doing the social thing at the church’s youth fundraiser. The youngest was in Driver’s Ed. D and eldest went on another college visit. Of course, this was forcing eldest against his will while inhibiting his social life and status amongst the buds.
The heading was southwest to the Queen City, NC. University of North Carolina at Charlotte. To-date, this is one decision that eldest made. Instead of D taking him to the far away smaller colleges with no active social activities or limited activities, he wants interactivity. D canceled the visit to Western Carolina. He gets that desire honestly…..from his Mom.
The visit was impressive. The tour was well organized into separate sections….kind of like an a la carte choice. Each section included 4 choices. We chose the School of Business, Academic help centers, Campus tour and Dorm life. The eldest grudgingly complied with all choices, even indicating his near peaceful sleep-state after the Academic help center seminar. However, he came back to life when the hot chick dancers came around. It’s simply amazing that a teenager can be asleep one moment and wide awake and very attentive the next.
We did get a little lucky. The baseball team was in town for a home game….against Harvard University.
Put another one in the books. Now he has 2 tours left for his junior year. One with Mom and one of his choosing. Right now, he’s leaning towards NCSU. Grandpa, Uncle, Aunt and Cousin alma mater.
